Course Overview

This course is delivered over 5 days on a day-release basis and is intended for site managers or those aspiring to be a site manager. The course is designed for those who are responsible for monitoring, managing, implementing, and reporting in a construction environment.

The course covers important health, safety and environmental legislation that affects working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It focuses on the need for carrying out risk assessments in the workplace, implementing control measures and the importance of communication to help promote an excellent health and safety culture among the workforce. The SMSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

Who Is This Course For…?
This course is designed for site managers or those aspiring to be a site manager. Delegates without previous health and safety management experience are recommended to complete the 2 day SSSTS course prior to undertaking the SMSTS course. All delegates must be competent in English.
Delegates are required to complete the full course (37.5 hours) and pass the exam at the end of the course to gain certification. The exam consists of 25 questions; 18 multiple-choice and 7 that require a written answer(s).
