Project Update: St Peters Medical Centre, Brighton

May 30, 2022News

It’s wonderful to see how much progress has been made at our St Peters Medical site.

Since our last update our team of carpenters have completed the timber roof construction with Pace Roofing currently installing the zinc roof. Once completed P&H Electrical Solutions will install the solar panels.

Externally all windows have been installed by Feature. Sackville brickwork have completed the face brickwork including the blue and green ombre panels.

Internally the M&E 1st fix is almost complete with only the second floor in progress. The lower floors have been plaster boarded with Sequoia Construction starting the plastering this week to the ground floor. Bryant Decorators will be visiting site to begin the mist-coat on the ground floors shortly. IPS panels are due to be installed next week.

The new 4-storey medical centre will serve more than 16,000 patients, providing them with a modern, fit for purpose integrated primary care facility in the heart of Brighton.

Thank you to Site Manager Robert Rollings, Charlie Mann and the team on site. We look forward to returning once Phase 1 is complete.

Project Update: Homefield Place, Seaford

May 23, 2022News

Working with Barchester Healthcare and Fed3 Projects Limited we have been instructed to build a 55 bed care home using traditional masonry and a caltite basement.

Comprised over four floors the new high-quality care home will include modern bedrooms, communal lounges, dining rooms and shared community spaces on each floor fostering a community feel.

The site has been cleared including safety work to protected trees. The basement has been excavated by our in-house groundworks team and lift pits have been blinded with concrete. Southern Piling have completed the piles for the tower crane and the base has been installed. Drainage works have commenced with foul water drains diverted and drainage for the basement level is being installed.

Thank you to our site manager Jim Demel and the team on site for all their hard work, we look forward to coming back in a few months’ time for our next update.

Project Update: Churchfields Business Centre

May 13, 2022News

It has been a lovely day for a visit to our site at Churchfields Business Centre in Hastings.

Working with Hastings Borough Council and Allen Construction Consultancy we have been instructed to design and build a BREEAM Excellent Business Centre. The two-storey project will include 29 new business units with a total area of approximately 1,015m2 of lettable space, including training areas and shared service and amenities.

The site will include a new access road and onsite parking, consisting of several electric vehicle charging points with an emphasis on sustainable construction methods and materials.

Our team of in-house carpenters are working at an exceptional pace to quickly put together the timber frame (OFP Timber Framed Homes Ltd) with this due to be completed in a few weeks.

Thank you to our Site Manger Lee Vockins and the team on site for their hard work. We look forward to coming back when the project is water tight.

Project Update: Bexhill College

May 5, 2022News

We’re delighted to be working with Bexhill College on the design and construction of a new extension to the theatre block and associated works. The design from RIBA Stage 4 is being completed by our in-house design team.

Works have progressed quickly on site. Our team have secured the area from the main college, allowing works to progress with minimal disruption. The steel frame is up, and the roof is due to be completed shortly. Dixon Building Solutions have begun to lay the bricks for the lower ground floor and our own bricklayers are breaking through to join with the existing building.

Well done to our site manager Ian Carter  and the team on site for all their hard work. We look forward to returning in a few months to see the progress that’s been made.

Project Update: Main Road, Icklesham

April 28, 2022News

Excellent progress is being made at our site on Main Road. On behalf of Hastoe Group we have been instructed to design and build 10 houses, 2 flats and 3 Shared Ownership Houses located on the outskirts of the rural Sussex village, Icklesham.

Externally cladding is in progress with the last block due to be completed shortly. Groundworks are in progress with paths being laid to the rear of the plots.
Internally 6 of 15 units have been plastered, 1st fix is almost complete with a couple of units commencing 2nd fix.

Well done to Daniel Goering and the team on site. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Project Update: Epsom College Sixth Form, Surrey

April 25, 2022News

Excellent progress has been made at our Epsom College site. Set within the heart of the College, the new sixth form building has been designed by CORDE to complement the surrounding buildings and will create a focal point to the campus.

The steel structure and precast concrete floors are complete. All the windows have now been installed along with the SFS walling. Internally screeds have been laid, partition walls have been erected and first fix services have been installed.
The zinc metal roof has reached the halfway point and currently we are closing in second side boarding of walls and partitions ready for plastering.

The three storey, 1,675m2 building incorporates classrooms, seminar spaces, a cinema, café, kitchenette and a careers and research area. The facility will help ensure students are equipped with the skills they need to transition seamlessly into higher education.

Fantastic work from our site managers Matthew Stevenson, Ian Lock and the team on site. We look forward to seeing this project progress.

Project Update: Westall House, Horsted Keynes

The second phase of our project working with Abbeyfield is progressing very well, the two-storey extension contains 24 flats together with communal and ancillary facilities benefiting from views across the South Downs.

The site is a hive of activity with multiple trades finishing works as the project approaches completion. It’s been fantastic to view the two new show flats today, these are currently open to viewings for new owners who have registered their interest.

Well done to Dave Woolley, Paul Robinson, Tyler Finch and the team on site. Thank you to the design team for their work on this project, Architect: Westridge Design Department and Engineer: Waller Gray Consulting Ltd

Project Update: St Peters Medical Centre

This week we’ve been to our St Peters Medical Centre site in Brighton.

Working with Medical Centre Developments, Nigel Ford, the new 4-storey medical centre will serve more than 16,000 patients, providing them with a modern, fit for purpose integrated primary care facility in the heart of Brighton.

Externally SFS Frames are nearing completion and Sackville brickwork have begun the face brickwork, the blue panels will vary in shade creating a unique ombre to the façade.

Our team of carpenters are currently working on the timber roof construction. Feature have completed the install of the ground floor windows with the upper floors ongoing. Internally first fix has now begun.

Congratulations to site manager Robert Rollings and the team for achieving full marks in their recent Considerate Constructors Scheme report.

Homefield Place, Seaford

We are excited to share we have broken ground at Homefield Place, Seaford this week with site strip underway in preparation for construction to begin.

Working with Barchester Healthcare and Fed3 Projects Limited we have been instructed to build a 55 bed care home using traditional masonry and a caltite basement.

Comprised over four floors the new high-quality care home will include modern bedrooms, communal lounges, dining rooms and shared community spaces on each floor fostering a community feel. The home will also incorporate a nurses station, salon and wellbeing room, activity rooms; including cinema, private dining room, quiet/sensory lounge and cosy family rooms.

We look forward to our first progress update in a few months’ time with our site manager Jim Demel and the team.
