We are delighted to announce that Hannington Lane, Brighton has been named WINNER in the Commercial category of the SUSSEX HERITAGE AWARDS.
We have recently transformed the former Hannington’s Department store and service yard into a new retail and leisure area creating a new lane and entrance to the historic Lanes shopping area from North Street.
The scheme also included the renovation and extension of existing Grade 2 listed historic buildings including the sympathetic repair and restoration of Pugets Cottage, one of the oldest properties in Brighton which now provide new and exciting retail outlets, restaurants and cafes.
Additionally the project provided nine new two storey apartments, with courtyards and associated landscaping, all in keeping with the character of the existing area.
The project was situated in the heart of one of Brighton’s busiest pedestrianised retail areas with limited access to the site through existing, congested roads.
In order to successfully and safely complete the project, we utilised detailed traffic management programmes and worked closely with all of our site neighbours, the Highways Authorities, conservation officers and other statutory bodies.
