The latest in a series of construction projects carried out for Plumpton Agricultural College to provide a new educational facility to teach wine production. The facility comprised a wine testing laboratory, Vat Room, classrooms on the ground floor and student accommodation on the upper floors.
The building was part two storey part single storey, traditional deep strip and pad insitu concrete foundations with a steel frame superstructure clad in masonry and rain screen cladding system. The roof was covered in a colour coated metal steel roof system with insulation and colour coated inner liner.
Externally the fenestration was colour coated aluminium double glazed units with automatic door opening system to main entrance. Internally the partitions were of masonry construction either finished with direct decoration or hard wall plaster or finished with emulsion paint. The project was completed with various specialist fit out packages providing lab equipment and teaching aids.
